{I Do} Finding the Perfect Guest Bedroom Color Palette {Part II}

19 Sep

In case you missed the first part of this post, I’m deciding on a color palette and fabric pattern for our guest bedroom. Here are the others I’ve been thinking of doing, but these are going away from what I believe I want to do:

Fabric Name: Annie Selke Links Slate

Fabric Name: Waverly Harmonics Essence Sea

Fabric Name: Pkaufmann Sea Breeze Patriot

Fabric Name: Waverly Modern Essentials Fabric-Groovy Grill / Confetti

The knobs are from Anthropologie, and I put them on this IKEA dresser. It is really the only piece in the room that is driving the direction of how we decorate our guest room. So here are a few boards full of fabric ideas I’ve been looking at:

Fabric Name: Waverly Coral Cascade Petal

Fabric Name: Waverly Lovely Lattice Lapis

Fabric Name: Woodhaven Foulard Blue

Fabric Name: Waverly Modern Essentials Fabric-Fun Floret / Spruce

{I Do} Love Our New Kitchen Furniture!

12 Jul

A few days ago I updated that Chris and I went to Ikea and got a kitchen cart for more counterspace. Here is the most current pic of our purchase (pretty excited). One thing I realized when taking this pic is that we own a lot of green and red…thankfully they are complementary colors!

Also, very excited that tomorrow, Chris will submit his FIRST blog post. Did I mention that I’m very excited?

The Ikea Trip…

11 Jul

Even before Chris and I moved into our new home, we vowed that Ikea would not be our sole source of furniture. While I am incredibly happy for our bed, bar, buffet table, side tables, (the list goes on) that have lasted almost 5 years, I was ready for legit furniture. Well, at least furniture I didn’t have to spend all Sunday assembling or worry about it breaking the next time we moved. However, this past weekend, we made a trip to Ikea. Not one trip, but TWO. Yes, we went on Saturday and it was a #failed mission. Came back on Sunday and found our winning piece…

As I’ve mentioned our kitchen is lacking in counter and storage space. Instead of breaking the bank and finishing the kitchen (we can’t afford more granite counter tops right now), we hopped back on the Ikea bandwagon, and I couldn’t be happier.  Stay tuned for the “after” photo of how we’ve made this more of an {I Do} piece.

DIY {I Do}: Painted Dresser as Kitchen Island

14 May

Love this idea, and how simple it actually is with a coat of paint and a few extra add-ons.

So here’s how it’s done for less than $200!

{Paper Towel Holder from Sears: $9.59, Ikea Dresser: $129, Hooks: $8}

I know this one doesn’t have a granite counter top, but in order to keep is on the cheap side, you can always keep the white top and stain it with a cutting board stain.
