The knobs are from Anthropologie, and I put them on this IKEA dresser. It is really the only piece in the room that is driving the direction of how we decorate our guest room. So here are a few boards full of fabric ideas I’ve been looking at:

I mentioned a little bit ago that I had found a few great pieces in the warehouse Chris’ parents have. One of the items I came home with was a wooden coffee table. I’ve been wanting to do a DIY project and convert a table into a bench for the guest bedroom – and this piece was perfect!
This post will be done in phases, as it’s been raining the last few days and I haven’t had a chance to paint it yet – I’ve only sanded. I wanted to share the progress/process anyway:

I really love the texture of the wood underneath the finish that was on it. It’s grainy so when I do a coat of paint it will look weathered and rustic.
My goal is to create something that is between these two looks:

Also, and I know this goes without saying, but always always always wear a mask when you’re sanding a piece of furniture. I thought I was wonder woman and didn’t wear one at first and my lungs punished me! Often the laminate or liquid finish on a piece of furniture is toxic and you don’t want to be breathing in the dust from it.

It’s no secret that I’m a summer girl. I get it right from my mom. But what I also get from my mom is the love for Fall/Autumn decorating. When I was growing up my mom always made sure the house was decorated for Fall/Halloween. It inspired me to think about how I will do the same throughout our house as the change of season is upon us. I have to share a side project I did – and most of you that are reading this will have seen it before. But recently I did a style shoot for my company – and it was gorgeous. I am also going to share more of it when I feature it again tomorrow on the company blog. But I had to share how much I love this country chic set-up – I would DIE for those chairs in our house.

And by pillow talk, I mean how obsessed I am with finding the right accent pillows.
I am constantly on Etsy looking for fab deals. And lately I’ve been obsessed with finding pillows that matched our very yellow couch. I love our couch so much, but I will say that it has been a bit difficult finding things to match it. So I came across this shop on Etsy: fabricjunkie1640.
She has amazing deals on pillow covers and the quality is fantastic. When I got the package from her, the two pillow cases were wrapped perfectly (Chris even commented on how nicely wrapped they were).

And then here they are on our couch. I’m still not quite sure about how they fit on the yellow couch, they may be sent over to the brown couch. We’ll see. More pillow talk to come 🙂
All I can keep saying in my head is: “That rug really tied the room together, did it not?”
If you’ve never seen the Big Lebowski then you have no idea what I’m talking about, but for those of you that have, hopefully you got a laugh (insert sassy comment from Chris here :)).
Anyway! After months and months of searching and then finally getting our rug – here is the initial result. I also ordered those fabulous lattice yellow and brown pillow cases off Etsy. I’ll write another post on that because the seller deserves her own dedicated post! More (and better) pics of the rug/living room to come.

When I was in Home Goods the other day I fell in love with these two benches that would’ve looked FABULOUS if I was doing a black and white or navy and white theme in our guest bedroom. Unfortunately, I’m not. But I wanted to share some inspiration on doing the double bench and single bench on the edge of the bed.
